Wanaïma Latortue

Wanaima Latortue: A Visionary Diplomat, entrepreneur and Advocate for Change

Born on December 27, 1996, in Haiti, Wanaima Latortue has emerged as a dynamic leader, blending her passion for diplomacy, cultural preservation, and leadership development to create a meaningful global impact.

Raised in Port-au-Prince by her mother, Rose Myrtha Rimpel, her brother Kevin Cayo, and her stepfather, Cayo Antoine Renee, a Commissaire in the Haitian National Police, Wanaima’s early years were marked by resilience and perseverance. Due to insecurity, her family relocated to the Dominican Republic, where she continued her secondary education and began university studies in Diplomacy and International Relations at the Catholic University of Santo Domingo.

In 2017, she moved to the United States and pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a focus on International Relations at Queens University of New York. Currently, Wanaima is furthering her academic journey by completing a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Relations.

Wanaima began her career in diplomacy in 2019 as an attaché at the Permanent Mission of Haiti to the United Nations. Her dedication and ability to navigate complex global challenges quickly earned her recognition within the Haitian diplomatic corps. She now serves as a representative of Haiti to the United Nations, where her work focuses on fostering international cooperation, promoting peace, and advancing Haiti’s interests on the global stage.

Wanaima’s impact extends beyond traditional diplomacy. She is the founder of **Current Generation**, a non-profit organization that promotes socio-cultural values, trains young leaders, and works to preserve cultural heritage. Through this initiative, she is empowering a new generation to embrace their cultural identities and engage with the world as active global citizens.
