Centre Hospitalier de Fontaine Foundation
Centre Hospitalier de Fontaine is a private nonprofit hospital (CHF) started by Mr. Jose Ulysse in 1991. CHF is located in the commune of Cité-Soleil, Haiti. For over 30 years, CHF has been self-funded by Gheriane Kareen. The hospital was funded by the Ulysses family, who invested up to 40% of their profits. This unsustainable funding model resulted in the death of Mr. Ulysses' mother, who had CHF and passed away due to oxygen deficiency.
CHF Foundation's mission is to "first and foremost save lives by improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare, education, and fair employment opportunities in low-income, highly marginalized, underdeveloped Haitian communities globally through a strong network of economic and service partners." To summarize they Identify schools and hospitals that are underfunded and serve marginalized communities.

-
Identify their strengths and weaknesses.
-
Develop, launch, and oversee healthcare, education, and workforce development programs to build on their strengths and improve their weaknesses.
-
Match these programs to foundations, corporations, and C-suite executives who want to help Haiti but need help knowing where to begin.

Currently, the CHF Foundation supports one hospital: CHF Hospital, one K-12 grade school, and one post-secondary school in Cité-Soleil, Haiti. Their focus is on highly marginalized communities because they believe that if organizations don't work in inner cities for any reason, they will continue to be breeding grounds for numb, violent individuals. CHF Foundation's annual fundraising objective is $200,000, which will be distributed equally among our healthcare, education, and workforce development programs. The CHF Foundation is seeking long-term economic partners to aid its efforts to move its local partners and communities relying on their services towards sustainability, thereby reducing their dependence on aid.
